Public lecture on light pollution (in German language)
Light pollution is ubiquitous, stemming from the excessive illumination of the natural environment at night. This has consequences for both humans and nature, prompting us to take corrective action.
In this presentation, learn about the risks this poses to humans and the natural world, as well as options for intelligent, environmentally friendly lighting. The “Sankt Wendeler SternenLand” project (www.sankt-wendeler-sternenland.de) also demonstrates practical ways to successfully limit light pollution.

Following the presentation, there will be a tour of the north dome and a demonstration of the Peterberg half-meter telescope. Please note that astronomical observation is only possible if the sky is clear!
